Lady Olenna owned the screen again, this week upstaging Tyrion in the memorable Game of Thrones quotes department, a feat not easily accomplished.
March 25, 2016
The whole "My name is Jaime" line while he lay in Brienne's arms, her calling for help for The Kingslayer, was perfect.
March 25, 2016
All in all, while relatively low on real action, this is a strong, densely plotted episode with many story elements and twists.

The first finale this season to not hinge on a violent showdown, it opens new lines of intrigue, deepens the oh-so-fascinating daddy issues in House Lannister, and to my eye, plants the possibility of a familial mutiny.

"Kissed by Fire" lacked a climax as world-rattling and satisfying as Daenerys's emancipation conflagration (though Jon Snow and Ygritte might beg to differ), but it more than made up for it with an hour of deeply unsettling foreplay.

Dare I say, Game Of Thrones is getting very soapy indeed, and I like it.
March 25, 2016
'Kissed By Fire' offers an excellent example of how sharp the writing of Game of Thrones can be when it establishes a compelling connection to otherwise disconnected characters.

Dany laying waste to the city of Astapor is an awesome scene, but Jaime and Brienne in the bath is every bit as good if not better. It's the great thing about this series: It can do both of those moments exceedingly well.
March 25, 2016
If this felt somewhat like a rushed episode of a daytime soap, I'll forgive it just for all enjoyment I'll get from Tyrion attempting to untangle all these threads.

The episode began with a sword fight we'd all been looking forward to: Beric Dondarrion (aka the Lightning Lord) vs. The Hound.
